The journey itself can be eye openeing, as we will no doubt pass Maasai herdsmen walk their goats ato new pastures. You will also have a chance to connect with your guide who will be sharing stories and answering all the questions you might have.

The highlight however is after lunch, when we embark on your first game drive. Tarangire is known as the “Elephants Playground”, however, it is also home to buffalo, lion, cheetah wildebeest, giraffe, zebra and gazelle.

Let’s not forget about the small amimals though. Your guide will help you spot colour changing agma lizards and a 30 cm hyrax which is related to an elephant.

As well as your guide, you will also be joined by a park ranger today, who will not only be there for protection but who will also be able to share his or her knowledge with you. You will be amashed how much you will learn by walking through the bush, and you will create memories that will last a lifetime.

After a break for a delicious and nutritious lunch, we will head out on a afternoon game drive. Enjoy the riverine woodlands and grasslands as well as the accacia and baobab trees as you go in search of wildlife. The beauty of a safari is that you never know what wonder will be waiting for you around the corner. Perhaps a trio of chetah are walking down the road, or a lonely lion lies perched on a tree. You may even spot an ostrich!

With your memory card full we will return back to the same lodge for another relaxing evening and delicious meal.

DAY 4 - ONWARDS TO MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we will wave goodbye to Tarangire and move on to the impressive Lake Manyara with it’s impressive 400 bird species and beutiful flamingo flooded alkaline lake. Both flamingos and waterfowl come here to breed and provide the perfect backdrop for many wildlife photos.

The park is also home to giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons.

It is time to chase down the migrating wildebeest. After breakfast we will embark on a 155 km to the heart of the Serengeti. We will spend the morning driving as you are left in awe of the sheer vastness of the Serengeti, the plains rolling on beyon the horizon.

After lunch we will head out on a game drive, one that will no doubt surprise you, like a fast paced drama unfolding before your eye. You never know what you might find, but you can be assured of a suprise!

Tonight you will stay Serengeti Tortilis Camp, superbly situatied to provide with a wildlife experience like no other. Sit around the fire in the evening listening to the calls of the wild and don’t be alarmed if you hear footsteps at night, the wildlife will be roaming freely amongst the tents. A truly unforgetable experience!

DAY 6 - EXPLORING CENTRAL SERENGETI

Using Serengeti Tortilis Camp as our base we will spend the day exploring the abundant wildlife of the area. There is so much of it that at times you will feel like it is coming to find you, as opposed to the other way around!

You never know what you are going to see, as it’s impossible to make appointments with the wild animals, however, bushland meets grassland here and is therefore a favourite  spot for  big cats on the look out for prey. If you are lucky you may winess cheetash, lions or leopards chasing down their dinner.

If visiting in May, November or December the migrating wildebeest herds will also be here making it an incredibly sight.

We will return back to the same camp tonight for another night in the wild.

DAY 7 - NORTHERN SERENGETI

The Northern Serengeti is that little bit harder to get to and therefore you will be rewarded not only by gorgeous landscapes and rolling green hills, but also with much fewer crowds.

Nestled between the Maasai Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya and the Central Serengeti, the north features granite outcrops and acacia
woodlands dotting open savanna, incredible wildlife, and most importantly massive herds of wildebeest and zebra making dangerous crossings of the croc-infested Mara River during the Great Migration in June and July, August and again in September, October and November.

This area of the park is also home to the largest concentration of elephants in the Serengeti  as well as boasting a good number of lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, topi, giraffe, eland and hippos!

For the next two nights you will enjoy the hospitality and comfort of the Mara Mara tented camp, located in the heart of the Migration from June to November. The lodge consists of 16 tents, all ensuite and with their own private terrace.

DAY 8 - BACK SOUTH TO NGORONGORO CRATER

We will make the most of our last day in Northern Serengeti before we head back down South for the final park of our Safari: the stunning Ngorongoro Crater.

We will arrive in the evening so will leave the exploring for tomorrow, instead heading to the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. We have chosen this one as it is perfectly situation near the crater without breaking the bank. It does lack a bit of charm, but it does make up for it with location. If budget isn’t an issue though then we would highly recommend the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, the most sought after property in the area.

Wherever you decide to stay we can guarantee great food and a comfortable nights sleep ready for an action packed day tomorrow.

DAY 9 - NGORONGORO CRATER

Our lastfull day on safari and there isn’t a better place to finish. The Ngorongoro Crater is like nothing you will have seen before. Despite it’s relatively small size it is home to many many species of Tanzanias wildlife, including the black rhino.

We will start the day admiring the views from the rim before descending the slopes into these wildlife paradise. The crate is home to around 120 lions, 15,000 wildebeest, 9,000 zebra, 400 hyenas, and around 50 black rhino.
Buffalo, Thomson‟s gazelle and eland are also present in numbers. Hippos can be found in pools and swampland and highland birdlife is colourful and plentiful around the waters. Flamingos can often be seen in Lake Magadi, which occupies part of the crater floor. You truly are in for a treat.

As evening approaches we will head towards Lake Eyasi and the Ziwani Lodge. As your final night before we head back to the Arusha, we have chosen a fully fledged eco lodge; running solely off solar and wind power. A truly wonderful experienced and a once in a lifetime opportunity to stay in a fort!

DAY 10 - MEET THE LOCALS

After breakfast we will wave farewell to our hosts and head to Lake Eyasi where we will meet the Dagota Tribe. They will introduce us to their village, customs and traditions. Join them on a hunting trip, visit a blacksmith and absorb this colourful way of life.

After this fascinating experience it will be time to head back top Arusha where we will once again stay in the beautiful colonial farmhouse.

What’s next is up to you. After 10 hectic days on safari you may wish to take a short flight to Zanizbar to enjoy some relaxing time by the sea. That is certainly what we would recommend!
